Yesterday was day 16 of the #30daywritingchallenge. I was … unable to complete this particular assignment at that time. That means I’m playing catch-up today. I’d expect multiple posts, were I you.
Yesterday’s topic: Bullet your entire day.
This topic seems really personal. More so than others we’ve done. Mostly because what we do – and how we do it – isn’t something for which we want to feel judged by others. This post opens a door I’m not sure I feel totally comfortable with.
I may go with some generalities or I may say screw it and let it loose. I don’t know yet. I suppose we’ll find out together. Rather than actual bullet points, I’ll use times. I admit to hating the formatting when it bullets.
7:15 and again at 7:30, my alarm starts blaring. I use a Klaxon horn.
7:20 and 7:30, My Companion’s alarm starts blaring. He uses heavy music. It tends to get him going. It alternates, and lately has been Beastie Boys “Sabotage”. I’m good with that, but it can be quite disturbing to be yanked out of sleep by it.
7:35 Analyze my physical and mental wellbeing to determine what kind of day it’s going to be. Lately they’ve been rough.
7:45 Quick walk with the dog, then take my Companion in to work, making sure to hit PokeStops along the way. Schedule posts for the AK Lawrence Author page so I can ignore it for the rest of the morning. FaceBook Page
9:00 After hitting more PokeStops, get home, take dog for another walk while we debate what we’re doing for the day.
9:30 (Tuesdays/Fridays) Leave for whatever appointments I may have. Lately it’s been Physical Therapy. I tend to schedule veterinarian visits and the like around this time also.
Physical Therapy days are a write-off for me. I often go back to bed, depending on pain levels.
Depending on the 9:30 errands, the rest of the day generally goes as so:
9:30 No errands means reading the news, catching up on Facebook, and probably some research. If I’m feeling it, I’ll post one of these articles on my blog.
10:00-12:00 I vacillate between the pool and working on the manuscript. I sometimes end up playing video games instead of doing either.
12:00-2:00 Take the pooch for another walk, grab lunch. Run errands if I failed to do that earlier – things like the grocery store, pick up prescriptions, whatever. Make any official phone calls that require my attention. Back to the manuscript if the words were flowing.
2:00-2:30 The nap debate begins. To rest or not to rest, that is the question. If I do rest, alarms are set for 4:00. Don’t judge me! I’m in physical pain and I don’t sleep well at night. Getting up in the 7 am hour does me no favors, either. I’ve always been a night owl.
4:45 Another quick walk with the pooch and then off to pick up My Companion from work. We’ll often stop for dinner or something along the way.
6:00-Bedtime Hanging with my Companion! Sometimes we play video games (together or separately), watch shows, or whatever.
It’s nothing truly exciting, but it is my current life.
I’ll be adding some fun stuff into my days soon. Check back with me after I’ve finished the physical therapy stuff and can be all active again. Herniated discs in my back and neck are problematic for the lifestyle I prefer.
I miss my old, pain free life. Enough bitching.
How are your days spent? I know a lot of you will answer work, but still, there has to be something!
